main causes
After WWI, the Allies that included France, Britain, United States and Italy signed the Treaty of Versailles, which punished the Central Powers (mainly Germany) for starting the war. It made Germany pay damages, reduce and limit its military and give up some part of its land. The Germans weren´t satisfied with these effects so they wanted revenge. After World War I, the Germans faced a big problem: The Great Depression. Many Germans lost their jobs and suffered poverty. In this time, a German man named Adolf Hitler was rising its power. He became the leader of the Nazi Party and promised the Germans revenge for the Treaty of Versailles.
